Field Notes

Description:

I heard this little song sparrow before I saw it. It was deep inside the branches of a pine tree just singing its clear song. I was able to identify it because of the heavy dark spot on its chest. I spotted it in a park near the Ronald Regan International airport in Washington, DC. Planes take off every few minutes going directly overhead this little song sparrow's tree and it does not seem to mind the extreme noise.

Habitat:

City park near airport in Washington, DC.
