Field Notes

Description:

Densely tufted perennial up to 40 cm, with noumerous basal leaves, recalling pine needles (see photo 4). Flowers in dense heads; petals purple of violet, toothed.

Habitat:

Rocky meadow in the edge of oak forest.

Notes:

Native to Albania, Bulgaria, FYROM, Greece, Romania and Turkey.
