Rhinodia rostraria
Rhinodia rostraria
-37.8936, 145.312
Field Notes
Description:
About 25mm long; barred pale orange and tan pattern on top of wings; pointy mouth parts; fine antennae held back over the wings; bare, narrow legs with small spines; posture when found was propped up at the front.
Habitat:
Attracted to night lights at a local used car lot.
Notes:
Conditions were very cold.. estimated chill factor of 5 degrees C. The moth did not want to move when poked. I don't blame it. Yet to search for species... looks similar on the back to the Autumn moth found about 8 weeks ago.
