How cool! You have two different species of Mantis here. The "short fat" one is an adult, female Carolina Mantis (Stagmomantis carolina). http://bugguide.net/node/view/4821/bgpage The "long skinny" one looks like a Brunner's Mantis (Brunneria borealis). http://bugguide.net/node/view/34147 Both are native species of Mantid! You should split these in to separate spottings since they are different species. I would love to see both of them added to the Marvelous Mantids of the World mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/15738247
