Field Notes

Description:

The larvae of this fly parasitize carpenter bees. See: http://www.urbanwildlifeguide.net/2011/08/carpenter-bee-and-tiger-bee-f…

Habitat:

At a wildlife sanctuary but not one of the animals in care. :>)

Notes:

This is my 1500th spotting on Project Noah. I would have never imagined that it would be an insect, let alone a fly, when I began as birds and mammals were what I liked most. PNoah has given me a real appreciation for all wildlife, however, including insects - and it is thanks to the wonderful photos shared by all the PNoah members. Thank you!
