It sure did (make it across the road). It took 3-4 rest periods, right there in the middle of the road - ambivalent to the traffic! It then crossed a parking lot. I took this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28S9w3IWoKs. When I passed back by on my way home - maybe 30 minutes later, the turtle was gone!
