Description:
Belongs to the Evening Primrose Family. A terminal, spike-like cluster of deep pink flowers and narrow willow-like leaves on a tall stem. This is a showy, post-fire invader and a spectacular sight in mass. The seeds are dispersed far and wide by long, white, silky hairs.
Habitat:
Spotted along the Old Indian Hiking Trail at Tamarac NWR. Plant was growing along the trail in an open woodland area.
