Field Notes

Description:

Some kind of shellfish found dried out on a beach in the Delaware Bay. I thought this was pretty cool since it turned a glossy gold-like color - it looked like a little hidden treasure.

Habitat:

Beach in Delaware Bay near the mouth of the Atlantic ocean. Nighttime, at high tide.

Notes:

I found this pretty close to the dunes, possibly stranded there a day or two earlier during a full moon high tide.
