Description:

Also know as the Blue Perch or 'Chameleon Fish' because of the amazing variety of colors into which it can speedily change, ranging from solid to intricate mottled designs.

Habitat:

This one is a male, found it in densely vegetated portion of a lake.

A nice fish indeed and yes it was safely released back into the lake. This particular species is endemic to the lower gangetic plains and is also commonly found in ponds and ditches. CCR: Catch, Click and Release.
Nice ! a handsome little fish. This species is apparently native to the Ganges river system. I hope he got safely back into the lake..
Amazing. I didn't know any fish could do that. Great scientific name too. :)
