Description:

A beautiful hawker dragonfly resting on the outskirts of a lagoon.

Habitat:

"Aeshna isoceles is found around ditches, marshes, ponds and lakes with rich vegetation."

I just happen to prefer the other species' colours pattern, seems a bit unlikely for a dragonfly.. But this one is beautiful as well!
I see what you mean about yours but I think this is much nicer with its big green eyes :-) and much clearer shots!
I thought it was pretty big but Wikipedia says it's a "small hawker dragonfly" so I'm not really sure! I'd say it was, at least, 6-7 cm long.
