Field Notes

Description:

It was about half a centimeter long and its legs were striped black and red with a black and yellow abdomen.

Habitat:

I found it on a table in my house.

Notes:

When I was trying to take a picture of it it kept on trying to jump away from me; it sometimes jumped as far as eight inches.

The latest information was that spiders can hear us clearly when they are in the room. Originally it was assumed that they could hear only in their immediate vicinity!
That's interesting. I never knew that when there abdomen gets small they are hungry.
They are cute creatures.Bug guide .net gave me the tip on giving it water.i had put up a spider in a similar situation on that .
I'm sorry, but I have lost it. I just took some pictures then it just jumped away.
When the abdomen is that narrow it means that it could be hungry. Give it a few drops of water.
