Habitat:

Canal system surrounded by woodland habitat.

Notes:

This girl was on the path trying to find a place to lay her eggs. I know this because on the way back to the vehicle, she had already positioned and started digging. Normally, it is quite difficult to get this close to spinys, but she sat there nicely and posed for a few pics.
