Field Notes

Description:

A small and colorful longhorn beetle about 15mm long.
All black except for a wide single band of orange midway down the elytra, two front femurs also orange and two pale orange segments near the ends of the antennae.

Habitat:

This one was found on the leaves of an endemic eucalyptus species in a local nature reserve.

Notes:

It seems the colour of the front femurs can vary to match the rear ones.
The pale segments on the antennae are also missing in this example 2000 kms north of here.
https://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_longicorns/OneBandedLongicorn…
