Description:
An endangered sub-species of the North American white-tailed deer that is not as large and only lives in the Florida Keys. These two were shy, peeking out from behind trees.
Habitat:
Spotted around Big Pine Key, the middle of their range in south Florida.
Notes:
They can be found eastward in Bahia Honda Key and westward in Sugarloaf Key, whereas in the past they were found all over the Keys. Key deer can swim from one island to another.
