Field Notes

Description:

They have a reddish-orange breast and they are typically seen flying in flocks. In these flocks, they keep a watchful eye and warn others about incoming predators. Although others birds try to lay their eggs in the nests of the American Robin, the foreign eggs are typically rejected.

Habitat:

They live, for most of the year, in the entirety of the United States. During the breeding season, most of the American Robins migrate to Canada. When the time comes for winter, the robins migrate far South, to places such as Florida and Southern Mexico.
