Description:
Familiar, tree-like cactus of the Sonoran Desert in southern Arizona and northern Mexico. Cylindrical trunk up to 40 feet tall. Side-arms don't appear until after 75 years of age.
Habitat:
Desert scrubland; indigenous to Sonoran Desert.
Notes:
Saguaro National Park (west), Arizona.
Species named for Andrew Carnegie (of all people!)
