Field Notes

Description:

These paradise ducks were spotted on the side of a small river in the area of Onerahi.
They had about 6 ducklings with them.

Habitat:

Small river area with some light bush surroundings, fields nearby for grazing.

Notes:

The genus name Tadorna comes from Celtic roots and means "pied waterfowl", essentially the same as the English "shelduck"
