Field Notes

Description:

A caged pupa almost ready to hatch. One is sticking to a wall and another is clinging on to underside of a leaf of gourd vine. Check out the video for how it responds to sound. Moves left when I clap on its right side and otherwise.

Habitat:

Western Himalayas.

Notes:

I kept it in my room and a few days later I woke up and checked the container like everyday and found it hatched with the moth sitting inside the container that was open. I kept it outside so it could fly and feed.
