Field Notes

Description:

Protaetia affinis is 25 - 30 mm long, with a thick-set body. Both side of its body are shiny-metallic, emerald color. Thick legs are also green with white strips.

Habitat:

It is very common in Southern and Central Europe. It prefers continental climate. It is not among the most common beetles. Adults are rarely visiting flowers. They are more frequently found on the trees with juicy fruits- I am seeing them quite often on the fig tree.
