Field Notes

Description:

Flat headed mushroom with a bland or vague kind of grayish yellow color on the the stem and head.

Brown dots start forming at the middle of the mushroom head gradually forming a medium sized circle right in the middle.

The size of the mushroom is quite large, larger than edible mushrooms, about 5 and a half inches in diameter.

Stem is very short. About three other mushrooms stand in the same area, a few feet apart.

Habitat:

The grassy area next to a road but on the property of a local church.

First seen in the hot July Summer heat.

Notes:

Mushroom looks very healthy, & is spreading around the grass.
