Field Notes

Description:

Body width 15mm. I watched the spider construct it web over the next hour. The outer circumference was constructed followed by the radials (photo 1). Next, the inner spiral stabilised the structure (photo 2). It continued with the outer spiral and worked its way in towards the centre (photos 3 & 4). No sooner had it finished its masterpiece and it caught its breakfast (photos 5 & 6)

Habitat:

Park at Clifton Beach QLD
