Description:
A cicada nymph (family Cicadidae) climbing up a young bradford pear tree. After it molts, it will have wings and be an adult. When they molt, they leave behind their old skin, which I'm sure you've found stuck to trees before. Habitat:
Climbing up a young bradford pear tree in my backyard at night.
Notes:
The brown liquid is some moth bait that I had made and spread on this tree. The cicada was not stuck; the first two pictures were taken about 20 minutes after the last 3, and it was higher up on the tree.
