Field Notes

Description:

Cucumber-like Leaf Beetle, green with 4 orange squares on the elytra, 5 mm in length. Family Chrysomelidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Notes:

Many species of this genus are serious pests of vegetables. The Corn Rootworm is also in this genus.
