It's some sort of leech or slug- I'm not sure. it has eye stalks.
yyvonne770, can you describe what you think it might be? the photo is a little blurry, but the detail is good enough to give us a start. do you think is a fungus or maybe an insect of some kind? I know that sounds like a daft question to ask, but without seeing any appendages it's hard to tell. My first and initial guess would be a beetle of some sort.
Found it on a creek side trail in Bellevue, WA today. Excited to hear what you think it is.
