Thanks! For the record, it was an accident I had it. A friend thought it was a tadpole and brought it over. I quickly knew he was wrong and the next day walked the critter down and set him free back in his creek.
If my suggestion is correct, there is actually a little story about them apparently. I don't know if you care at all but they seem to be an endangered species or at risk of it, which may make it illegal for you to have in an aquarium. I don't know if that is true but need less to say, there is some interesting work going on for this species. Here are my sources by the way.
