Description:
A Dark Eyed Junco's underparts, breasts, and sides are slate-gray and the belly and outer feathers are white. Both male and female Juncos have pink bills.
Habitat:
Dark Eyed Juncos range from Alaska to Newfoundland, south to Manitoba and New Endgland, and south in the mountains to Georgia.Their habitat is in woodlands, fields, brush, and surburban yards in winter.
Notes:
The Dark Eyed Junco is the best known as a ground-feeding, winter patron of surburban bird feeders. This species comprises five forms at one time thought to be distinct species.
