Yes this is a hairy wasp or Scoliid wasp (Scoliidae). Campsomeris tasmaniensis, although invasive to New Zealand, I don't think has been recorded in Florida.
Hi Jamie, this looks similiar to one we get in Australia. You will have to see whether it or a similar species occurs in Florida. Cheers Andrea
