Next time you eat calamari rings know that you are eating the hood that covers a squid’s body that would contract rapidly to make it rocket through the water.
Know that its skin was covered with mirrors as well as balls of colour that could spread out independently to create different patterns
and that squids are like living paintings that use these patterns to talk: flashing stripes is anger, a sparkling inner white is love and fear is the reflection of the colours around them.
Imagine then that each individual squid would be different, undetectable to a human eye the patterns would vary and as such it is possible that you are eating the greatest painter of a squid era, a Picasso, or a Van Gogh.
