Field Notes
Description:
Forward wing is variably gray or brown, often with a strong greenish tint. Scalloped AM and PM lines are double, filled with orange scales. Oblique subapical patch is white with thin black streaks along veins.

Host plants are hickory, maple, birch and other deciduous trees.

Notes:
When I first spotted this moth I thought it was just a faded/worn Wavy-lined Heterocampa (H. biundata #7995) but upon further inspection, that is indeed a white patch and not glare or ware. You can see the underwing in the one shot, and it is white all the way through to the other side. This would be a first for me, a life moth.
If I am wrong with the ID, please correct me.
