Field Notes

Description:

Family: Erebidae, Subfamily: Arctiinae, Tribe: Arctiini (Tiger Moths) Length: 16-22 mm. Wingspan: 30-40 mm. Satin white FW is marked with whiter veins and a yellow costal streak that fades before apex. Head and collar are yellow. Hosts: Indian hemp and milkweed.

Habitat:

Woodlands, fields and garden. Came to black light under deck near woodlands and gardens.
