Field Notes

Description:

Found in my back yard in Santa Clara,ca. Has dark green glossy leaves. They seem to be in pairs that alternate orientation 90 degrees.

Flowers start out nearly black at first and then turn pink.

Habitat:

Growing I mostly shady area near fence. Hasn't been watered in two years so must be drought tolerant.
