Field Notes

Description:

large yellow flower, about 4" across, medium sized woody tree, not sure of the species

Habitat:

tropical rainforest

Notes:

I spotted this Dillenia flowering on a small side trail off the summit road in Kubah national park. I often see Dillenia in flower, but the flowers are always very high above the ground. This was one of the first times I saw them at eye level.
