Field Notes

Description:

I saw this specimen pecking some insects on a tree. Did not know what species was, but when I search, I discovered that's one of the few species of woodpecker that does not use its tail as a support, because it is very fragile.

Habitat:

I found this specimen in the edge of a river. In a transition region between the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado.
