Description:

small fly 6-7mm short, golden coloured hairs on its thorax,

Habitat:

found these in heath and woodland area although often turn up in homes (also known as the attic fly)

Notes:

Unlike blowflies these flies lay their eggs in soil and larvae infect earthworms
