Field Notes

Habitat:

Suburban neighborhood with several mature trees. Our backyard is kept more natural acting as a habitat for the neighborhood wildlife. The large number of small/song birds living here attracted the three young Cooper's Hawks. Their eyes have not turned red yet.

Notes:

The other two flew off as I got close to the walnut tree, but all three are getting more comfortable with our presence. This one refused to fly off and stayed eating.

Thanks :) and thankfully they are much neater eaters than they were when they first arrived! There wasn't a hint of the meal left behind on the ground under the walnut tree.
