Field Notes
Notes:
This specimen was seen on my first day in the Galapagos Archipelago, Ecuador, when traveling aboard the National Geographic "Islander" and undertaking daily excursions, both hikes and snorkeling. After landing at Baltra, South Seymour Island, we were greeted and took a Zodiac to board our ship in the harbor. We next repositioned to North Seymour Island, where we made our first hike to view the abundant wildlife. If the Galapagos is not on your "bucket list," I highly recommend adding this beautiful area for which numerous organizations, such as the Charles Darwin Foundation, alongside the national government of Ecuador, are making great efforts to preserve.
