Caripeta divisata

Field Notes
Description:
A lovely moth in the Geometridae found coast to coast in North America. This specific individual had a strange behavior of holding its wings in the ventral position, seen in the third photo, and would only rest its wings in as in the first photo if I gently nudged them down. Shortly after they were down, the wings would slowly return to a ventral position, shown returning, in photo two.
Notes:
Lifer!
