Field Notes

Description:

Anisomorpha sp? Tan back with a gray dorsal stripe and brown sides.

Habitat:

On my porch, pine/oak forested area. She started climbing my house so I let her crawl into my hand and took her to the bushes near the house so they would be safe.

Thanks Aaron! For some reason I never got an email with your comment. And yes Luis, at first I thought it was a baby but when I looked it up I learned it is very common for the large female to carry the much smaller male around on her back :)
Is there a little one in the back Ashley?
Yep, it's definitely Anisomorpha but Texas has both species so I can't help you past genus. http://bugguide.net/node/view/323
