Field Notes

Description:

Butterfly, with damaged wings rescued from pool. Wingspan is approximately 2.5 inches. The wing are a light brown with pale orange yellow spots. The large abdomen and rounded wings indicated that it is female. The butterfly is pollinating a naturally established Mexican Petunia

Habitat:

This butterfly spend much of its time in the neighboring Hackberry trees. Recent high winds may have transported the butterfly into my yard.
