Field Notes

Description:

A parent teaching a youngster how to get the juicy part of a reed stem. I am imagining captions for each of these images of what the parent is saying! Those big feet remind me of the African Jacana, a dainty bird with even bigger feet! And the juvenile is all foot with a tiny head!

Habitat:

Coastal marshes.
