Jamie is correct about this being a purple martin, chimney swifts have a very distinct shape in flight. Their wings are set far forward on the body, are really long, and point backwards.

yes the last three are chimney swifts but the first one looks very …. purple. if that makes any sense.
Thanks jamie and Ian. I went with Chimney Swift because of the tail. All references I see say the Martin has a forked tail.
