Field Notes
Description:
Washed ashore. White gelatinous patch of biomatter about 6 cm long, 3 cm wide and 3 mm in thickness, attached to kelp. Covered with what looked like bursted vesicles.
Habitat:
Pacific Ocean. West side coastal area of Vancouver island.
Notes:
I think this could be the remnants of Pacific herring (Clupea pallasii) eggs. Spotted on the beach of Half Moon Bay, Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, Vancouver island, Canada.
