Good eye Aaron! Thanks for the correction. These were with spotted cucumber beetles, so I guess I jumped the gun on the ID. Will make necessary corrections.
Hi, Bill. I stumbled upon this spotting after posting a striped cucumber beetle today. After looking at your beetle - and after looking at a lot of info about the 2 species - I think yours is the introduced western corn rootworm and not the striped cucumber beetle. Take a look at the BugGuide pages and see what you think. They are quite similar but have some distinct differences. I looked mostly at the markings on the elytra and the legs, and also noticed that the abdomen extends past the eleytra in Diabrotica virgifera and not in Acalymma vittatum.
