Telltale Y marking on top of the head, brown spots on body outlined in black | Non-venomous | Imitates the sound of a rattle snake when it feels threatened -- will shake its tail against leaves to sound like a rattle | Mostly feeds on rodents

Photo taken on the Hansen Township section of the La Cloche Silhouette Trail, somewhere near H22, on a high ridge
