Description:

Going through old photos from my time living in Japan and found one I missed. This is a Joro Spider (AKA: Jorōgumo), spotted in Sagamihara City in Kanagawa, Japan. The spider can be found throughout Japan (except Hokkaidō), in Korea, Taiwan, and China.

Notes:

Jorōgumo is a legendary creature in Japanese folklore. A Jorōgumo is a spider who can change her appearance into that of a beautiful woman. She seeks men to seduce, whom she then binds in her silk and devours
