Description:
European Starlings are chunky, have short tails, and have long, slender beaks. In flight, their wings are short and pointed. European Starlings appear black, but in the sunlight they have a purplish-green iridescent with yellow beaks.
Habitat:
European Starlings are common in suburbs, towns, and countryside near populated communities. They feed on the grounds of fields, lawns, sidewalks, and parking lots. They rest and sleep high up on wires, trees, and buildings.
Notes:
European Starlings are noisy, loud, and tend to travel in large groups. They race across grasses and fields, beak and probe at the grass for food; and while they sit on high buildings and trees, they make continuous noises and sounds.
