Description:
approx. 13mm a female - P.raphigastra is among 6 known species in the genus... 4 in SE-Asia and another 2 in central Africa... and are known for the downward-spiraling shape of their nests.! as with other members of the genus... its a swarm-founding species... meaning new nests are founded by relatively large numbers of uninseminated females (workers) together with a smaller number of inseminated females (egg-laying queens)... as opposed to independent-founding where new nests are founded by one or several inseminated females.!

found on leaf (in situ) within secondary jungle at approx. 1370m asl
