This specimen was seen while on a nature hike from our camp at ACTS led by Dr. Steve Madigosky, Chair, Environmental Science Department, Widener University, in Chester, Pennsylvania. When threatened, Dr. Madigosky advised that these arthropods will sometimes "play dead," as in the second image.
