Fungus-eating Ladybird

The Fungus-eating Ladybird is a small (between 8-10 millimetres) yellow ladybird with black markings found in both Australia and New Zealand. The larvae are white with black spots. As the name suggests, their main food source are various types of fungi including black mould (stachybotrys chartarum). If disturbed, the Fungus-eating Ladybird will usually stay completely still or fly away. The Fungus-eating Ladybird are most active during the day although can still be found during the evening, as seen in the above pictures.
