Description:

Plain Tiger belongs to the Nymphalidae family of butterflies. It is a medium-sized, non-edible butterfly, and is mimicked by multiple species. It is believed to be one of the first butterflies used in art.

This is a great photo. Both of these are males, having an additional black dot on the hindwing.
